How much do veneers cost?
Veneers are cosmetic, so they're not on the NHS. Privately, composite is £150–£400 per tooth and porcelain £500–£1,200 in 2026 — the material and the number of teeth decide your total.
| Type | Per tooth | Set of 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Composite (resin) | £150 – £400 | £1,200 – £3,200 |
| Porcelain | £500 – £1,200 | £3,200 – £8,000 |
London and the South East run 20–40% higher. Many practices discount a per-tooth price for full sets.
Composite veneers are sculpted straight onto your teeth in one visit — cheaper, reversible, but they last around 5–7 years and pick up stains. Porcelain is lab-made over two visits, removes a little enamel and can't be undone, but it looks the most natural and lasts 10–15 years or more. For a full "smile makeover", most people treat the 6–10 visible upper teeth, so compare per-tooth prices and ask about finance before committing.

How much do veneers cost in the UK?
Composite veneers cost £150–£400 per tooth in 2026; porcelain veneers cost £500–£1,200 per tooth (premium options more). A full set of 8 front teeth is roughly £1,200–£3,200 in composite or £3,200–£8,000 in porcelain. London and the South East are 20–40% higher.
Are veneers available on the NHS?
Not for cosmetic reasons — veneers are considered elective and paid for privately. Only where there is a genuine clinical need might a veneer fall under NHS Band 3 (£332.10).
Composite or porcelain?
Composite is cheaper, done in one visit and reversible, but lasts about 5–7 years and stains more. Porcelain costs more and removes a little enamel, but looks more natural, resists stains and lasts 10–15+ years.
Private ranges from UK practice fee guides and 2026 market surveys. Cosmetic dentistry is regulated by the GDC; this is general information, not clinical advice.
